Reflecting the North is a FREE symposium which will highlight the quality and diversity of work being created across the North, discuss challenges and explore ways the culture sector can be further supported. A funders’ panel will be part of the event.

Who should attend: Funders, economic and tourism developers, policy makers, artists, arts organizations, educators and the business community – Everyone is welcome!

CraftCurrents: A Juried Travelling Exhibition of Contemporary Craft

In conjunction with the Symposium, CraftCurrents: A Juried Travelling Exhibition of Contemporary Craft in Northern Ontario, will be making its stop in Sault Ste. Marie.  The juried travelling show features 43 pieces of craft reflecting the diversity and quality of work being created in Northern Ontario. All regions of Northern Ontario are represented as well as various cultures.  The pieces utilize a variety of media including bone, brass, ceramics, copper, driftwood, fabric, feathers, fleece, glass, gourds, leather, stainless steel, sterling, sweet grass, wasp paper and wood finely crafted into a wide range of objects.
